As an artist, I've discovered that painting is more than just a hobby—it's a portal to joy, a grounding force, and a pathway to expansive thinking. Through my art, I've unlocked a truly fulfilling way of life, one that celebrates creativity and embraces the beauty of the moment.

My artistic odyssey began with childhood dance, nurtured by my mother's virtuoso piano. Our living room was where I discovered the joy of self-expression.

Painting, for me, is akin to dancing or immersing in nature. I become a conduit for life's energy, stepping into pure sensation and presence. My art transforms into a visual symphony of colors, shapes, and textures - an unbound expression of freedom.

As I grew, so did my creative exploration, intertwining with life's big questions: "Why am I here?" and "Who am I?" These self inquiries led me to the School of Visual Arts, where my journey as a serious artist truly began.

At SVA, I immersed myself in painting, illustration, performance art, and animation. My work became a canvas for archetypes and sacred symbolism, inspired by Greek mythology, Buddhism, and Native American wisdom. I was both artist and truth-seeker, striving to understand my place in existence while creating beauty.

Key projects emerged from this period of exploration:

"Dreamplay" (originally "How to Build the Sky") - An illustrated creation myth for children about how the Skybuilder creates all happening’s in the sky…the sun rise, rain, , rainbows, etc. Published in 2004.

"Into the Kiva" - A spiritually-introspective inquiry turned into a performance art piece

"Fly On" - A dreamlike animated short film set to music composed by my mother, Doris Pines
